This Committee will have in charge all arrangements for the Eighth Reunion at Adamsville.

CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I. This Organization shall be called the REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION OF THE 160TH O. V. I.

ARTICLE II.

SECTION 1. The officers of the Association shall be a President, ten Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer, and an Executive Committee of five members.

SEC. 2. The duties of the officers shall be such as belong to such officers.

SEC. 3. The Executive Committee shall have full power to make all necessary arrangements for the time and place for the Regimental Reunions, and arranging the details thereof, and appointing all necessary local committees.

ARTICLE III

All Comrades of the 160th o.V. shall be eligible to membership by paying twenty-five cents as a membership fee, and such assessments annually as shall be considered necessary by the Executive Committee.

ARTICLE IV The reunions of the Association shall be held annually, at such times and places as may be decided upon by the Executive Committee. This Constitution was unanimously adopted at the first annual reunion, held at New Lexington, 0., September 15 and 16, 1891

NOTICE

Our Constitution requires of every member of the Association the payment of 25 cents per year as annual dues. There are perhaps comrades who are not able to pay this amount, and if so, they should not be deprived of membership. A number of the· comrades last year paid in excess of the amount of their dues, in order to assist those who are unable to do so, and others will doubtless do the same. It will be impossible to conduct the business of the Association without means, and it is to be hoped that every member will cheerfully respond.

The Eight Annual Reunion will be held at Adamsville, Ohio, Thursday and Friday, August 17 and 18, 1898.

THE SEVENTH REUNION

DUNCAN’S FALLS, 0., AUG. 12, 1897. The 160th Regimental Associations, as per arrangement ofthe Executive

Committee, met at Duncan’s Falls, and at once proceeded to have our annual good time. At 8:30 the church in which our exercises were held began to fill up, when the registering of members and hand-shaking began. Our President, Capt. D.C. Fowler, in a few well¬timed words, called the meeting to order. He then introduced Rev. Sollars, who invoked the divine blessing. The Comrades united in singing the old war song, “Marching Through Georgia,” in such a manner as to send a thrill through the hearts of all the old soldiers present. The address ofwelcome being next on the program, was delivered by Mr. John Mason, ofDuncan’s Falls.

Quite a lot of letters were then read from absent comrades, who regretted their inability to be with us, yet in spirit they were.

Little Miss Mary Pyle then entertained us with a recitation, when an adjournment was called for until 1:3O. AFTERNOON SESSION

At the appointed time meeting was again called to order by President Fowler. “My Country” was rendered by choir, when James Brannon, by invitation of committee, delivered a very thrilling address, giving some very interesting statistical information, when choir rendered “In the Prison Cell I Sat.” Miss Laura Ward’s rendition of “Barbara Fritchie” brought forth a storm of applause, as did also “Tenting on the Old Camp Ground.” Volunteer speeches and stories of camp life were then taken up and a general good time prevailed. Adjourned

6:30.

EVENING SESSION.

The following bills were allowed: Tribune Company, Badges $ 6.50

Total………………………… …………………………………………………………. $32.14

PROCEEDINGS OF THE REUNION OF 1897

George Seigfried, son of Captain Seigfried, deceased. of Co. E. was then elected honorary member of our association. It was unanimously agreed that our roster be revised, and Comrade Lieut. McMahon authorized to print two hundred copies. Motion made and prevailed to pay Mr. Brannon $2.00 for his address. The names of our dead since last meeting (as far as can be learned) were then read and eulogies offered. The following officers were elected for the ensuring year:

President, Capt. D. C. Fowler; Treasurer, J. W. Martin; Secretary, Will Davenport. The following Vice Presidents were also elected. Co. A, Leonard Brown; Co B., George Shepperd; Co. C, Geo. Caywood; Co. D, T.

H. Wilson; Co. E, Wm. Edwards; Co. F, Albert Kennedy; Co. G, Noah May;

Co. H, John Ream; Co. I, Thomas McLees; Co. K, J. D. Shannon The following resolution, by Lieut. Speers, was unanimously adopted: Resolved, That the thanks of this association be tendered to the members of the

Methodist church for use of building for headquarters, also to the choir for the excellent music rendered for the occasion.

By a vote of the association Miss Ward and Miss Pyle were elected daughters of the regiment. “Uncle” Billy Jackson, 86, was loudly called for, and he came forward and sounded the assembly with as much vigor as he did in the Shenandoah Valley 35 years ago, and the “boys” once more felt like “falling in.” Misses McIntire and Hattie Johns enthused us all by their well rendered and appropriate recitation. Choir sang “Red White and Blue.” Personal experiences were called for, when quite a number responded, and we were well entertained. After a rendition of “Dixie”, by the choir, Miss Lydia S. Gloyd read a very interesting essay, after which was a recitation by Miss Lillie Reece. Rev. Gray, a bright young orator, turned himself loose and everyone felt as though they were in the midst of an old-time revival. Recitation by Miss Florence Gloyd. “Battle Cry of Freedom” was rendered by choir with so much enthusiasm that all were thrilled. Benediction pronounced by Rev. Gray, when association adjourned until seven o’clock Friday morning.

MORNING SESSION

Association met pursuant to adjournment, and closed up the following unfinished business; Selection of place for holding our next (8th) annual reunion. Adamsville was choosen, and the following committee appointed

160TH OHIO REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION.

and empowered to make all arrangements: Wm. Edwards chairman, J. H. Hanks, S.W. Sutton, B.F. Davis, and J.V. Zimmer. Miss Reece and Misses Gloyd were elected honorary members, also. Herbert and Ruth Davenport, children of the regiment. Our sympathies were sent to Comrade Robt. Jamison, who has since been called hence. Lieut Speers presented the following resolution which was adopted.

Resolved, That the thanks of this association are due to the committee having in charge the arrangements for this reunion, for the faithful manner in which they have discharged their duties, and also to the loyal citizens and Woman’ Relief Corps of Duncan Falls for the hospitable manner in which we have been entertained.

Our annual dues were reduced from 50c to 25c. Association adjourned to meet next year in Adamsville, on Thursday and Friday, August 17th and 18th, 1898.
