Does anyone know what the occasion was that resulted in this train. Passenger service to New Straitsville had been discontinued many years before.

MY PHOTO WAS A EXCURSION FROM COLUMBUS TO NEW STRAITSVILLE. THE COLUMBUS RAILWAY BUSINESS WOMEN SPONSERED A TRIP MOST YEARS IN THE LATE 50’S AND EARLY 60’S.
BESS BOWLING WAS THE HEAD OF THE GROUP. SHE WAS CAR DISTRIBUTOR FOR THE C&O AT COLUMBUS. WE CALLED HER “BOX CAR BESSIE”.
CHECK THE OTHER PHOTOS THAT I SENT AND YOU WILL FINE A PHOTO OF JERRY BALLARD AND ROAD FOREMAN HARRY SHELLER IN FRONT OF THE ENGINES AT NEW STRAITSVILLE. ALL OF MY PHOTOS WERE TAGGED.

Thank you. I have greatly enjoyed the railroad photos and learning about the web of railroads that once were in this area. Looking at the Official Railway Guide for the era of the photos provides more insight such as the frequency and time of passenger service to the Little Cities.
