My GRANDMOTHER, Ada (Miller) Gill, wife of Leslie Simon Gill, mother of C. Berl Gill, Everett Furl, Floyd Carl and Eula Faye “Faye” Gill Stickdorn wrote this information on this picture. I have the original in my photo’s. I have a panoramic view of New Straitsville Oil Field photo by Gardner that Gramma gave me. It measures 10″x48″. It hung in their home ever since they moved to New Straitsville April 1, 1912. She was a wonderful keeper of information but much was lost when she had to move from New Straitsville after the death of her husband, my Grandpa Gill. I was born on Bessie Furnace Hill ( that may not be what it was called). I have pictures of the area. I am looking for information regarding the tragic accident (and obituaries) that took the life of my great-uncle John Gill and a few days later his brother, my Grandpa Leslie Gill. The accident took place in front of Grandpa and Gramma Gill’s home. June 1967. I would pay for information pertaining to the Gill’s. I would be interested in reclaiming -paying for – household items in the possession of local residents that once were my grandparents. My parents, Berl and Janis (Applegate) Gill with five children moved to Michigan in 1943. My dad worked in the oil fields here most of his life. I visit the area as often as I am able. I continue to research the family and bask in childhood memories of the area.
