McCuneville Hotel 1962

DO-PH-1053
1962
The Brick building is the old hotel.  My grandfather remembered being present at an irish wake where they took the guy outta the coffin,
propped him up in the corner and put a cigar in his mouth in that building.  It started collasping in the mid 1970s and eventually completely fell down.
The next wooden building was George Gaver’s store.  It served as the post office during the time that George Gaver was postmaster.  Beyond that would be the house that Fritz Griffin owns.
The church in the distance is the Methodist Church.  This photo is taken looking north toward New Lex. – Rob Dishon
