Sunday Creek Mine No. 301. Located at Congo on the Z&W Railroad.  Operated by Sunday Creek Coal Company of Columbus.  Shaft opening 28 feet to No. 6 Seam of coald 13 feet thick.  Fan ventilation, machine and pick opening.  Employes 305 men.  J.J. Muprhy is Supt. and Mine boss.
This mine constructed and openind last of 1890 and shipped first coal in February of 1891.  Opened by Congo Coal Company of Columbus, shipped on the newly opened railroad: the SS&HRR. Columbus, Shawnee and Hocking.
