Dr. Book’s Salve from Park’s Drug Store

Posted by littlecitiesarchive on July 5, 2010

This salve was devised by Corning doctor Dr.  Book and mixed and filled as a prescription at Park’s Drug Store in Corning (early 1900’s through early 1990’s). It was used as “drawing” salve, to draw infections from under the skin, including boils and infected cuts.

And it worked, better than anything sold at CVS today. I can remember my dad putting it on a boil and it opened up by next morning.
